[MY; 2024] Kuala Lumpur & Genting foodie trip
Was in Kuala Lumpur for a work trip, and managed to extend the trip with my family to go on a foodie trip :)
Kuala Lumpur
Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel
Stayed in this five star hotel!

Would I recommend? Not really, nah, there are better KL hotels out there.
Terrasse KL
A rooftop restaurant that serves yummy food, the night view was gorgeous! The staff were very welcoming and helped with the fans etc. Enjoyed the meal very much!

FOOK
This restaurant was very ig-worthy - they used very bold oriental design, which makes the place a very luxurious restaurant!

Came in to the private room and was given a welcome drink!
Even though it was catered food but everything was on the dot - very Chinese-Malaysian taste.

The red lanterns looked prettier at night:

Definitely a must try in KL!
Cheevit Cheeva
I heard that this is a very popular cafe in Bangkok, specializing in Thai "bingsu". My favourite pastime is chewing on shaved ice, so I cannot miss this out!

The cafe was quite "disorganized" - the menu was online and ordering over the counter. I could not get connected to the roaming for a bit and I asked for the physical menu, and they couldn't find one. HAHA

Genting Highlands
Right after desserts - we booked a Grab and headed straight to Genting Highlands! If you're curious, we booked a 6 seater car and the trip costed RM 128. It would be cheaper if you get a 4 seater car but we had some luggage.
Highest Family Mart!

It claimed to be the world best fish & chips...

éæę„é걤 Ah Yip Herbal Soup @ Genting Sky Avenue
This was one of our favourite soup place in Genting since like 10 over years ago. It is always nice to have something warm in the cool weather, would recommend!
Zok Noodle House @ Sky Avenue
I tried their noodles in Singapore, so decided to give it a try in Malaysia!

It does warm your heart somehow, but if I have to rank, I would prefer the herbal soup over this. Would be nice if the portions can be slightly bigger!
Grand Imperial Restaurant Genting Highlands
I was craving for some duck meat and the best I could find was this restaurant which doesn't need much reserving / bookings.
But it was really very disappointing, the meat was tough and oily... not the duck meat I was expecting.

This fried beehoon and fried rice saved the meal, otherwise I would walk out of this place really upset.
Steam Era Genting Seafood Restaurant @ čøę¶ä»£ äŗ锶
I would really recommend the seafood at Steam Era! We really loved the prawn with glass noodles, and also the set lunch:
But the steam meat was disappointing - it wasn't cheap but the portion was sad. Like this:

Din Tai Fung é¼ę³°č± at SkyAvenue Genting
You cannot go wrong with Din Tai Fung - and it was cheaper to have it there vs Singapore. Xiao Long Pau were yummy with juicy soup!
Beena's Signature Sky Avenue
If you are looking for pocket-friendly eateries in Genting - this is the place:They served very affordable set meal which comes with a main dish and drinks. It didn't hurt the wallet at all (Genting food can be quite expensive!)
The portions were good, and taste well all good! Just the drinks can be a little sweet for Singapore standards.

This marks my foodie trip for both places!
