[TW; 2013] Living in Taiwan Series | New Taipei City's Christmas

Visiting Taiwan, Taipei during Christmas?
This is a small guide on how to enjoy and celebrate Christmas in Taipei/New Taipei!

1. Banqiao's Christmas Celebration 板橋耶誕城

5mins walk from Banqiao Metro Station/Train Station!

^^LED Christmas Tree

^^Christmas Trees Located all around the area!

^^Live concert; oops for the bad quality image!

The main highlight of the Banqiao's Christmas Celebration - 3 different days of free live concert which holds on weekends; it starts around 7pm and ends around 11pm. Do expect big/famous Cpop Stars appearing in the live concert! I went on the Saturday concert and it features Jolin, Bii, 黄小琥 etc.

But since it is the winter period, do expect slight showers while enjoying the concert. If possible grab some raincoats, it will be more convenient. Hence this explains for the blur bad quality image; cause you need to struggle with the umbrella, camera and the ever moving crowds.

As they changes their official website every year, do google for the official website (Keyword to google: 新北市歡樂耶誕城) for more details of the concert. Add it in to your Taiwan itinerary if you are traveling in December!

2. Fujen University's Christmas Celebration

There is a Fujen University Metro Station on the yellow line, it takes 1 min walk to reach the school campus.

^^Christmas Decorations Countdown Event

Every year, a countdown event for Christmas lightings will be held in the campus. It will be on one of the days during the first week of December. These Christmas lightings around the school campus will be available till Early January. So if you cant make it for the countdown, why not make a trip down any day in December, and enjoy the atmosphere of Christmas in an University!
