[NZ; 2024] Auckland - Mount Wellington \ Sylvia Park
This is an extension of my Auckland's posts - featuring Mount Wellington & Sylvia Park which is a small district approximately 20 minutes away from the city!
I was there for some work but I realised it was quite a pretty place to be in.
Hotel
There is only one hotel around the area:

Waipuna Hotel and Conference Centre
It looks quite decent in photos, but in reality a very old school hotel with slightly tired furniture. I forgot to take a photo of the microwave, but it looked really old that I didn't dare to use it.

It was a loft room, so I was still happy about it! But would be better if the bed was below and the tv / chilling area was upstairs. Just easier to access the washroom in the middle of the night.

But the washroom looked new! They must have refurbished it very recently:

The room was really nice with a lake view:

Sunrise was pretty too:

The hotel does serve very simple breakfast, but it was quite yummy:

I also tried the hotel restaurant for dinner, but it was quite so-so, not really recommended:

And I have to say - I did a walk around the lake and it was really refreshing!

Shopping
Yes shopping, I managed to squeeze in some time for a shopping trip at the biggest mall in Auckland. It was a walkable distance from the hotel. And I managed to catch some cherry blossoms again :)

The exterior of the mall doesn't look like it is a big mall...

Sylvia Park Shopping Centre
I was totally wrong... it was that big that I felt tired and had a headache walking around the mall.

It had so many things and of course my favourite store Target! The price was similar to stores in Australia, but definitely cheaper converting back to SGD.
I ordered some kiwi tea drink.. it was pretty strange, but still alright!
There were quite a lot of food options, and I ended up with this place:

Garrison Public House
It was quite delicious, just that the restaurant can get quite noisy and crowded with people. They served food quite slow so you just need to be patient, but all was good!
Ending my Auckland trip over here :)
