[NZ; 2024] Day 1 | Auckland City - Airport & Hostel
Day 1
I took a layover flight - Qantas, layover at Sydney for 2 hours. I arrived Auckland around late afternoon which was perfect (I don't like arriving to a new city at night).
I was lucky that the Skydrive bus to the city arrived when I exited the airport! I didn't even had time to take a photo of how the bus stop looks like, I was running to the bus. It was a bus stop on the right once you exit the airport, no need to walk to the bus terminal.

NZD $20 per way
I paid for the ticket by card on the spot, the driver will have a card machine for you to swipe your card.
The ride was really nice and quick:

It was a weekday afternoon, no traffic, arrived in 30-40 minutes! Alighted at the Skycity.

And hello to the Sky Tower!

Check-in
I knew I will be alighting near Sky Tower - so I tried to book an accommodation near there, so I do not need to lug my heavy luggage all over the hilly city.

I found this co-sharing hostel at a good deal.

The hostel was superb crowded - full of people at the ground floor, but quite peaceful around the rooms. Unfortunately, I didn't had the best check-in experience as my room was double charged, and they kindly refunded the excess but I still paid more because of the fx differences...
I booked a private room with sharing washroom:

This is how the bathing area looks like, it doesn't have a lot of cubical, but surprisingly, the washroom was always empty.

Ig-worthy backdrops:

Dinner
I rested a little and went out to pack dinner:

'The Sushi Store', 'Naked Chopstic', 'Seoul Burrito', 'Fryin Kimchi', 'Mark'ne Kitchen'
It was a shared takeaway kitchen, the menu was extensive! I ended up over ordering.. they are very very yumy!

So much comfort food for the first night while watching people in the hostel kitchen cooking their dinner - they were all like master chef!
