[TW; 2013] CNY Travels | Taipei P1
DESTINATION 5: TAIPEI
I will be dividing the Taipei trip into 2 sections:
This first part will be covering my trip in Taipei itself.
And the second part will be covering my trip in Taipei & Jiufen-Pingxi area.
DAY1
#1 Kaoshiung HSR > Taipei HSR

Stayed in the new Colormix location at Kangding Street. Right at the end of Ximending but I would say the security was quite good.
For more information on Colormix, please refer to THIS POST.
#3 Colormix > Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall åē«åē¶ē“åæµé¤Ø > Dongqu
Our Route for the night:
Point B, Ice Monster!
Their very cute and blue-ish menu. There is a minimum charge of NT$120/person which i feel is unnecessary cause all their desserts are already overpriced.
We was quite lucky that the cafe was quite empty when we came around 8pm, and 10mins later there was a long queue outside. (phew)
Anyway, we ordered the following desserts.
Sesame!

Mango Ice and Strawberry Shaved Ice!
I cant really compare whether the old Ice Monster or the new Ice Monster is better. Of course the clean environment and the cute logo designs are appealing. But I do miss the old Ice Monster where we had to sit on random chairs and the shop next to it was playing some ancient chinese music.
I would still recommend Ice Monster; their ices arent that bad afterall!
Point C, Hello Kitty Sweet Cafe!

We chose to take-away the cakes, tiramisu and some greentea cake? (Yummy!)
Some random Hongkong Cafe which is located further down Hello Kitty Sweets!
The range of dishes they have on their menu!
And we ordered Fried Rice, Curry Rice and some random dishes.

Ended our day like that!
DAY2
#1 Colormix > Ximending
We had brunch at a goose stall.
We ordered like a feast cause my mum felt that everything on the menu was cheap.
Conclusion of the day, I dont really like goose meat but my parents really like it. If you're interested, this stall is located somewhere opposite the hospital. Just look out for the signboard sticking out of the street that they are selling goose meat.
#2 Ximending > Taipei Main Station
Just walked around and shop some clothes and bags.
And we were too engrossed playing the arcade games that nobody thought of taking down pictures.
#3 Taipei Main Station > Shida Night Market
I am abit hesitant whether should I still call it Shida Night Market. Cause it seems that the local authorities dont recognise this night market anymore.
Came out from the å°é»å¤§ęØTaipower Building Station and there was no signs at all for Shida Night Market. I did panic for a while then I recalled about the petition to save Shida Night Market 1-2years ago..
Just to recap, to go to Shida Night Market, Exit from EXIT3 or EXIT4 (usually I'll exit from exit4) of Taipower Building Station! After exit just follow the crowd and 90% you will reach Shida Night Market.
Route of the night:
Point B: Dinner at é£Æé¤Øå !
A korean restaurant, quite a popular in Shida Night Market!
Complimentary side dishes.

This hot plate for NT$400!
Street view of Shida Night Market!

Ended our day at Shida Night Market!
DAY3
#1 Colormix > Ximending
Brunch at a famous stall in ximending.
#2 Ximending > Danshui Old Street
Route of the day:

Point B, 귔갓č±č±ā§čå°
View of Danshui river from the second level of the shop.
Aiyooo, I checked both my camera and ipad, nobody took the picture of the soya beancurd!? I engaged my dad to be the photographer using ipad and he only took this!
Anyway, the soya beancurd tasted not that bad. A nice place to chill with friends and family with a bowl of soya beancurd.
I promise to patronise the stall again just to take the picture of their soya beancurd.
Point C, ē¾čęŗ«å·é¤é£©
After patronising for the third time, I finally found something I would love to bring back Singapore.
ę”č±čęå°! Lychee Ice-blended for NT$30!
Enjoyed having this in the cold weather, I bet it would be better in the hot&sunny weather like Singapore.
ē¤éč
æ, chicken drumstick for NT$65. Abit overpriced but worth the try!

Not forgetting... é¤é£©ę¹Æ, dumplings soup! for NT$65.
We ordered 2 bowls of it. Cause my mum loves it and she even ask me whether she can taobao (takeaway) it back to Singapore.
Point D, ę£å®éæēµ¦čåŗ
I only patronise this éæēµ¦ stall. I know there are several stalls but I have no idea why I will still walk into this stall.
We had to climb to the last level of the building and waited for 20mins for the food due to the huge crowd.
The usual standard set of mine; é±¼äøø fishballs, éæē» ahgei, čäøø meatballs.
#2 Danshui Old Street > Shilin Night Market
Finally got a chance to visit the new Shilin Night Market food court. But after walking one round around the food court we decided to head to the Night Market instead for dinner. The food over there were too common and all the stalls were like selling the same food.
So we chance upon this random stall located at some random location. I try googling it but I cant find the location of this stall.

We had shredded-chicken rice, stir-fried pork with kimchi and toufu with century egg!
Delicious!

We also had honey chicken! I love honey chicken!
And we ended the day shopping in Shilin Night Market!

#1 Colormix > Ximending
Brunch at a famous stall in ximending.

It is located at before/after (depending on the direction are you walking) the cluster of the 3 movie theaters.
They are famous for their chicken drumstick. apparently you cant see it in the picture XD
Anyway, the drumstick was delicious and the other side dishes like the radish soup was GOOD!
But the price is slightly steep, around NT$80 for one drumstick.
äøåå¤åPS: If you're interested in STAYREAL, if im not wrong, it is just 3 shops away from this eatery shop
