[TW; 2018] Solo Series | 10 Tainan City Attractions + Accommodation
Tainan
Tainan is one of my favourite city in Taiwan. I love the historical feel of this city! But the downside is... transport is really inconvenient, even getting a cab on the streets is tough.
I spent 2 days in this city and this post will be sharing what I did in this city for this trip. Tainan foodies will be shared in another post!
Sightseeing
Tainan Art Museum | čŗååøē¾č”é¤Ø
For art lovers, this is a must-go for you! The newly re-open art museum has lots of events & exhibitions, there will definitely be something that interest you!

Took a bus from Wu Garden, bus number 99! Upon alighting you will see this impressive temple.
The ticketing counter is just next to the temple.
The queue was rather long, it was approx 30 mins wait for weekdays afternoon.
The guided boat tour was 30 mins, the best place to sit in the boat are the front or the back, followed by the sides. Otherwise it will be very difficult to capture nice photos!

Interesting place to visit, the roots of the old trees and the fort, making this place a nice spot to take ig photos!

Missed the bus to catch the sun set, so I ended up enjoying the sun set from far! Otherwise it should be on the åčꔄ Sicao Bridge or å¤é½åŗå¼µę Sio House.

6m tall Capsule Toy machines available in Tainan! It is a place where you can shop around for some artistic items. However the place is rather small, I would say quite disappointing. But the plus point was, I made a Taiwanese friend over there!

A place with lots of interesting events and exhibitions for those who love law, for building photographers, this place is impressive.

Blueprint Culture & Creative Park | čęåęåµåå
The Taiwanese I newly met recommended me this blue place, she told me she enjoyed the place. And... me too! This place is totally ig worthy!
Other than the blue metal house, there is a creative park selling those artistic items. & I really took alot photos of the "robot" figurines along the streets; dont you think they are cute?

This is one of the latest art attraction in Tainan, it is a street concept museum where the whole stretch of the street has plenty of such pretty art placements for your creative expression! Another ig-worthy place!

This area is a former military housing that turned into an area showcasing indoor & outdoor artwork, quite a peaceful and quiet place to take a nice stroll!
All the trees over there seems very aged!
The highlight of this place is this glowing purple metal structure! Really an impressive structure and worth some ig shots too!

[Bonus Attraction!] Accommodation
Cao Ji Book Inn | čøē„
I would say, this accommodation is an attraction itself, even my Taiwanese friends were so surprised how could I find such a pretty place. As an avid chinese reader, this hostel was heaven to me! From the entrance to the rooms, you will be surrounded by plenty of books. Sleeping in a bookstore / library!
There is a lounge at Level 1 where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea with a book.
There is another enclosed area, which looks like a library, where you can comfortably pick a seat and enjoy your reading
The female dorms were at the other side of the building, and steep stairs up to the top levels.
The washrooms were abit Japanese style and definitely one of the best hostel washrooms I have ever been to. All the products - makeup remover, lotions and much are free! (environmental free too!)
This is not the end of the hostel tour. On the main building, there is a rooftop common space!
Pretty fairy-lights which girls will fancy over them!
Simple free breakfast provided by the hostel too!
Verdict: It was superb near the Confucian Temple, which means a distance away from the Tainan Train Station. You can opt for the bus, but I chose to walk (which was a bad choice). Another cons was the stairs were steep and I can't lug my luggage up (had to leave them behind the counter). Nevertheless, I loved the hostel atmosphere, the whole place smelt good & I had a nice sleep, it made me feel like I'm sleeping with tons of books. The friendly staff were the plus point too! If you wish to save some money on the accommodation, just bring along a book with you to exchange for some discounts!
