[AU; 2024] Sydney Foodies

Rating some foodies around Sydney CBD!

1. Silk Cafe & Restaurant

It is a fusion cafe located in the busy World Square. The cafe wasn't too busy, service was alright. Ordered some prawn pasta and it tasted average. But if you are a more brunch person, I think that is more of their specialty and based on reviews it seems to be much better.

But for the pasta, probably 6/10!

2. Nazimi

I have to say... their service was amazing! They are a small Japanese restaurant tucked in the CBD, but never underestimate the food. I had a course meal as it was with a group, all the fried dishes came freshly cooked, and super delicious!

I would rate 9/10 for an excellent yet modest Japanese meal.

3. Normcore Coffee

Normcore Coffee
If you are looking for some coffee, tea or hot chocolate fix - this small cafe along Castlereagh Street would be a good choice! I had hot chocolate and I really liked it a lot!

Hot chocolate - 8/10!

4. Searock Grill

If you are looking for a decent meal very close to the Opera House, this will be a good choice. I actually visited them twice as I was visiting the Opera House for a second time. No complains about the seafood, service can be a little lukewarm, other than that everything else is okay.

I would rate their seafood - 7/10!

5. New Shanghai

New Shanghai Westfield Sydney
Asian food in Sydney was surprising good - we tried the New Shanghai at Westfield and I was very surprised not only the taste but also the portion. The portion was huge and can feed a village! The restaurant can get really busy, so if you are going in big groups you have to be a little understanding that some orders will go wrong.

Otherwise, I would rate 7.5/10 for the taste!

6. Primi Italian

 Primi Italian
This is one of the highly rated Italian restaurant in Sydney CBD, we had to check the authenticity whether they serve pizza with pineapples! I would say the standard of the items varies, sides and pizza were good, but pasta was bland. The restaurant is super busy and they are very strict with reservation & dinning time.

Just on the food, I would rate 6.5/10!

Ramen Zundo

 Ramen Zundo
Stumbled across this ramen stall when I was craving for some asian meal. It was a very light restaurant - order your food at the counter, grab a table, and your meal will be served. It was quite a pity that I didn't enjoy the noodles as much as the reviews. It could be me who is a little picky with noodles, but I would say the broth was nice.

Ramen, sorry but just a 6/10.

This sums up all the foodie I had in Sydney - some hits and some misses, but all reviews based on my taste preference so take them in a pinch of salt! If you have some Sydney foodie recommendations, please let me know too!
