[TW; 2013] Living in Taiwan Series | Dongmen 東門

We planned to go Korea during our stay in Taiwan but due to money constraint... so we went dongdaemun instead! (close enough hah!)

Dongmen is on the yellow mrt line. And based on our taiwan friend, it is the station for 永康街! The most convenient way to get there.. 4-5years ago we had to walk from 古亭station.

1. Dante Coffe Shop 丹堤咖啡研磨專賣店 （outlet: 永康店)

^^Mocha Ice-blended NT$75

It was pouring so we decided to find a place to chit-chat. Dante Coffee Shop was our first choice due to the location and also the pricing. What I liked about the Mocha Ice-blended was it comes with chocolate chips. Chocolate chips with the blended ice is really daebak(good)!

2. 中庭咖啡‧套餐‧下午茶

^^This small restaurant is located at Lishui street

Very friendly owners and food wise was good; homely taste. Just that they dont serve the food really fast and the set meal drink only came after I finished my rice. Very nice ambience and a great place for a slow dinner!

3. Eating Time美式餐廳 

Went there for brunch and the food was interestingly nice. I ordered some meixco wrap and they were very generous with their fillings. Would recommend a brunch over there! It was around NT$200~NT$300 for most of their set meals.

4. Roasted Delights

I have no idea what is the name of this stall, but it is located along the streets of yongkang.

 

It sells very delicious roasted food, with very generous servings. It will be a great choice if you like to get something not from the cafe and enjoy Taiwanese way of having a meal at an eatery. The lady owner was too busy with her takeaway orders but still very friendly towards us.

5. 鼎泰豐 DingTaiFeng

 The famous Ding Tai Feng with its famous Xiao Long Bao. And I tried their sticky rice dumpling, it was really good too! Although the wait was really long, but worth the wait, not the price. It is not a good place to sit down and chat cause once all your food is cleared, they will kindly ask you to leave the restaurant for the other customers queuing outside.
