There was a complimentary free breakfast spread by the hotel every morning! I love the chocolate danish pastries as they were the best after heating it warm.

Late Morning — Tokyo Train Station

Tokyo Station 東京駅
It was just a short 10-15mins walk from the hotel to Tokyo Station. And headed straight to the ramen street for food!

Tokyo Dried Sardines Ramen Gyoku
東京煮干し らーめん玉 東京駅店

There were several ramen stores in the underground mall, but we were there a little early, most of the stalls were not ready. The best and unique option we could spot was this sardine based ramen. The staff were very friendly (with limited English) when we were a little lost with using the ticket machine to order. The food was surprisingly good - the soup wasn't that fishy, the noodles were cooked perfectly and gyozas were well pan fried.

Noon — Harry Potter

We took the Marunouchi Line to Ikebukuro Station. And followed by Toshima Line to Toshimaen Station. Ikebukuro had a bit of Harry Potter elements, but Toshimaen was totally for Harry Potter fans.

The walk from the station to the Harry Potter place was roughly a 10-15mins walk, it was pretty unsheltered, so it was superb hot during summer.

The Making of Harry Potter - Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo
ワーナー ブラザース スタジオツアー東京 - メイキング・オブ・ハリー・ポッター

You will need to book the tickets with your preferred scheduled time. Recommend to get in as early as possible as it was rather crowded even for a weekday. The exhibition was divided into two areas. After the first area was done, there was a cafe for you to grab some food and drinks. We got some snacks to share - it was very average food, and butter beer - where they allowed you to wash the cup and bring it home.

The second section felt slightly smaller, we managed to finish it faster compared to the first. There was a queue for the flying a broomstick on a green screen - I thought it was included with the ticket, as there were no signages that it was an additional paid activity. And the bill of the video was honestly scary and totally not worth it.

The end of the exhibition will brought us back to the main hall area where we could get some Harry Potter branded gifts or grab more food and dessert. We did not try the food in the main hall as reviews doesn't seems that great.

Verdict from a non-Harry Potter fan:
I appreciated the exhibition overall, but the 4–5 hour walking tour felt quite long for someone who isn’t a fan. As a result, I couldn’t enjoy the exhibits as much as a fan might, and it didn’t bring as much enjoyment as I had expected. I wouldn’t recommend it to non-fans, especially since there was no option to exit the exhibition before completing the entire route.

If you’re visiting as a fan, you’ll likely enjoy every moment. However, it may be best not to bring along someone who isn’t interested in the series.

Early Evening — Tokyo Dome City

Tokyo Dome City
東京ドームシティ

We walked into a random restaurant within the mall and ordered set meals which came in small bowls of rice & soba! Probably not the most yummy soba in Japan, but it was good early dinner meal.

Missing bubble tea too much and got Chun Shui Tang from the mall too!

There was quite a good range of shops - they had 3 coins and I managed to find the toy camera I wanted to get for a long time! The mall also had an amazing sunset view. If you're a big fan of rides, the roller coaster do looks thrilling.

The dome was connected to the mall, hence we walked over and realised there was a match ongoing. We wanted to buy the tickets to join in the atmosphere but when we heard the match will be 2-3 hours long... we backed out.

DAISO - Floor 4
ダイソー メトロ・エム後楽園店

There was a Daiso above the Korakuen Station - it felt more local vibe as the items seems to be more household. Happy shopping!

Evening — Ameyoko Market

Ameyoko Market
上野アメ横商店街

Ameyoko Market was quite disappointing this time - probably we went too late (9pm) where most of the shops were closed and just a few eateries were opened. But as we walked towards Ueno Station (we started from Okachimachi Station), there were a little more stuff to look around at the last stretch.

This marks the end of the long day in Tokyo!
