[TH; 2014] BKK Part 4

Sawadee Kha!
This is the part4 of my BKK trip!
Which means my last day at BKK!

 1) LemonTea Hotel > SabX2
SabX2, the famous wanton mee stall among Singaporeans. It is just 2 alleys away from LemonTea Hotel, which was super close. It is located beside Shibuya 19.

^^The menu, but all written in Thai

I guess they knew that most of their customers are foreigners, hence most of their helpers can speak mandarin, so no worries if you want to order food.

^^Dry and Soup Wanton Mee

^^Pig trotters and etc with persevered vegetables

I cant remember how much does this meal cost, but should be quite reasonable pricing. Just that the portion was really so small that I ordered additional rice apart of the wanton mee. I'm sorry to say that I felt it was rather over-rated. Have to admit that the pig trotters were really tender, but the noodles and etc not as impressive as what I read through blogs. Maybe I should not hold high expectations in the first place.
SabX2;
4/32-33 Soi Petchburi 19, Pratunam, Bangkok, Thailand

 2) SabX2 > Wat Pho
We took a tuk-tuk to Wat Pho, too much things happened on the way to the temple which made me frustrated over BKK's tuk-tuk system. (Long story ahead!)

The driver promised the drive us to Wat Pho Temple and he drove us to a diamond shop that we came 2days ago by another tuk-tuk driver, and we sort of being chased out the previous time, as we were paid too much attention to the display fishes than the diamonds. So we offered to pay him more to drive us straight to the temple but he refused, and insisted to bring us to the next diamond shop. So in the end, a 20-30mins ride from Pratunam to Wat Pho Temple became a 1hour tour around BKK, finding a suitable diamond shop for us.

So we came to this diamond shop and we headed straight to their souvenirs corner, bought some handmade pouches and etc, hoping that the tuk-tuk driver will not drive us in circles anymore. After getting his commission and N litres of petrol, he suggested to drop us off somewhere nearby which was Chinatown. Seriously!!! We insisted to go Wat Pho Temple. He drove us to some road which had many grand structures and dropped us down, randomly pointing to some direction, giving excuses such as his tuk-tuk cant go further in. Being tourist, we trusted him and headed to that direction then realised that it was some royal palace called The Grand Palace. Yes, we got cheated, Wat Pho is a distance away from there.

Thankfully a nice lady who can understand simple English pointed the right direction for us. So we walked 20-30mins under the scorching sun... Lesson Learnt: not to trust tuk-tuk drivers

We had to purchase some entrance ticket to get in the temple, I think it costed around 100baht.

^^We bought lotus which came along with some gold papers that you can paste on the Buddha

^^To visit the Sleeping Buddha you have to get a carrier and place your footwear in it

^^Sleeping Buhhda

Please wear long pants/jeans upon visiting temples in BKK.

^^Entrance ticket is exchangeable for a bottle of mineral water

Wat Pho is quite a huge place to cover, with lots of amazing structures around. And I love taking photos over there, as the sky was so blue, so pretty!

 3) Wat Pho > Pratunam
We decided no more tuk-tuk rides back to Pratunam, so we hopped into a taxi right at Wat Pho entrance. We did not ask for a meter ride as the driver offered to drive us to Pratunam for 200baht, which we find it quite reasonable.

But cons of taking the taxi was, the petrol indicator was indicating that it was running low. I was so afraid we will be dropped off at some random place due to lack of petrol.

Upon reaching Pratunam, we went to Pantip Plaza, which is 2 blocks away from Platinum Fashion Mall. It is a place filled with IT products, but we were only interested in the A&W stall.

After that we shopped abit around the Pratunam area and headed back to LemonTea Hotel.

4) Pratunam > LemonTea Hotel > Suvarnabhumi Airport
The staff at LemonTea Hotel was so nice, she flagged down a taxi for us and even bargained the fare for us. Not sure the exact rate from Pratunam to Airport, but we paid 600baht (5person) for jumbo type of taxi which included toll fees. We overheard another group of Singaporeans that booked their taxi for 700-800baht, but 4 of them have plenty of luggages.

The ride was quite fast, around 30-40mins. After check-in, we decided to have our last thai food meal before entering the departure gate.

And.. That marks the end of my bangkok trip. Not sure whether I will return back to BKK after all the stuffs that happened on my last day...

But hopefully, Phop Gan Mai (พบกันใหม่)!
