[TW; 2013] Living in Taiwan Series | Yingge 鶯歌

Half day trip to Yingge 鶯歌!!!
Firstly, we took a bus from where we stayed (In New Taipei City) to the nearest train station (which is 樹林). Next, hop onto the 區間 local train to 鶯歌. If you are staying in Taipei, just take the local train at Taipei Main Station.

^^Directions from the train station

A: 鶯歌火車站
B: 阿婆壽司
C: 鶯歌陶瓷老街
D: 鶯歌陶瓷博物館

1. 阿婆壽司 Apo Sushi

We were hungry; so we decided to head to their traditional market and find this famous Sushi stall!

阿婆壽司, +886 2 2670 9345, 239台灣台北縣鶯歌鎮中正一路63號, 5:00-21:00
^^steamed egg 茶碗蒸 NT$20

^^Sushi NT$55 and fried pork NT$40
The sushi was filled with Taiwan own's flavor; the rice was sweeter than normal japanese sushi and the fillings were very localised. And this was the first time I get to see so many children and elders eating sushi together! 大小都愛吃他們的壽司!

2. 陶瓷老街 Yingge Ceramics/Pottery Street

^^Many ceramic made items for sales at a low price!

Stumbled across this RedBean cake 紅豆餅
^^I did not ordered the red bean but the Butter cake 奶牛餅; it was quite nice and it does not taste very sweet!

3. 鶯歌陶瓷博物館 Yingge Ceramics Museum

^^Main entrance of the Museum; it was one of the filming scene in the Taiwanese Drama "My MVP Valentines" (MVP情人)

^^Map of the Museum

^^Rooms after rooms of ceramic displays; to protect the artist creations I did not take alot of pictures

^^This walkway bridge in the Museum appeared in the Taiwanese Drama "Fated To Love You" (命中註定我愛你)

^^Ceramics Park!

^^Interesting displays around the park for camwhore!

^^Free ceramics workshop available at specific timing!

All the places mentioned in this post are walkable; no cab or bus is needed!
This marks the end of my halfday trip to Yingge! Such a pretty and artistic place not to be missed!
