[KR; 2017] Solo Series | Jonggak Station 종각역

Jonggak Station 종각역

Jonggak Station was quite an interesting place to explore!

Cant remember where was this place, but there were a couple of traditional performance during the weekends, really a good place to enjoy the korea culture.

Visiting the underground mall was my favourite past-time in Seoul.

So above the underground mall is the Avenue of Youth. There were plenty of shops on both sides, and many cafes and restaurants in around that area. Plus some small stores in the middle selling some small items.

Walked further down, and was surprised there is a stream (Cheonggyecheon 청계천) the midst of nowhere! I entered from Exit 5, which is a bridge - Jangtonggyo 장통교. Upon facing the stream, I walked down on my left.

It was rather refreshing to take a stroll along the stream, so nature!

This stream was already running during the Joseon Dynasty, so along the sides of the streams, there were painting illustration of the king using the stream to visit his father tomb during his mum's birthday. It looks like thousands over people accompanied him for the walk.

Not forgetting trying to cross the stream using the stepping stones, a must do in Seoul!

Of course, a selfie must be taken in the middle of the stream!

I did not walk further down to the next bridge, but if you do so and continued on till the end, you will be able to reach Cheonggye Plaza 청계광장, which Korean Dramas & Varieties like to film some sweet couple dates over there! (I heard the nigh view is pretty awesome!)

This is a map I saw online, I think it will be really useful if you would like to use the stream route to do some itinerary planning around Seoul! (Tip: You may like to visit their official website for useful itinerary http://english.visitkorea.or.kr/enu/ATR/SI_EN_3_1_1_1.jsp?cid=897540)
