[SG-KLANG; 2023] Genting Dream Cruise

Exactly 10 years ago - I took the same route but it was under Superstar Virgo. Now transformed to Genting Dream!

And same 10 years ago... this was also a sponsored trip, and we were given 2 free rooms.

Upon boarding, you will be given a card and this card is like your identity, room card plus credit card. You should never lose it!

Room

The free room had a choice of balcony so we just went head with it - who doesn't like bigger rooms.

Everything looks very pleasant and I don't mind returning back for the room. I have a minor claustrophobia, so the old room layout I didn't really like it that much and had to sleep with 3 others and that tiny washroom. Now, washroom was well sized.

Food

Pretty much the same as back then, there were a few places where you can get meals for free.

Verdict (Western vs Chinese): Western definitely - although not all dishes were great, but the taste was acceptable and I like the buffet more than the set menu. So if you see western serving buffet - should just go for it! Chinese had plenty of misses, average taste that will not wow you.

Entertainment

Cruise - of course casino. But other than casino, there are still some stuffs you can do and see.

There is a Bingo Game that happens every now and then, the prize was quite attractive but not cheap to participate - $24!

Swimming pool, it was quite big and able to accommodate many people at the same time.

There are several shows at different show times, so check the schedule and catch them. Quite enjoyable and funny!

What else?

The cruise stops at Port Klang - many people disembark the cruise to head over the port's minimart to get prawn crackers.

If you do want proper shopping - the nearest mall will be an Aeon mall:

We spent more time trying to get a grab from Port Klang then traveling. The ride time from the port to mall will be around 20 minutes.

The mall has all the big fashion brands that Singaporeans love to get their clothes from (maybe just me!)

It has been a more enjoyable trip this time compared to 10 years back. And 2 days just flew pass that I wished it was a little longer! Would recommend anyone that wants a short break from work :)
