[TW; 2013] Living in Taiwan Series | Food P4 - Fujen University 辅大

All stalls shown below are all from the surroundings of Fu Jen University. Some of them are chain shops so they may have other outlets at other places.

1. 永和豆漿大王

^^hotplate noodles  and fried steam buns

I did not expect the noodles will be so delicious with black pepper sauce! Can't remember the price for this plate, but should range around $30~$50. Fried steam buns the taste is just so-so, but the price was reasonable, 2 for NT$40!

2. Good Day

 

I believe this is a chain restaurant... ordered something like KFC's melts. Wraps with pork. I ordered a set, so it comes with free flow of drinks and mashed potato. The mashed potato is really nice as there was egg within it. Can't really remember the price but ranging around $220~250.

3. 冰糖茶點

One of my favourite hangout place, because the price is reasonable and there is TV in the eatery. They have a very unique ordering system which I dont know how to explain. And their soft drinks comes in 1000ml, which is super huge cup. Food wise is value for money!

4. 檸檬草 Lemon Grass

My top favourite eatery around Fujen Uni, see the amount of photos I have, and this shop was featured in 食尚玩家. It opens 24 hours and their servings are super big. Price wise ranging around NT$200-300 which I feel for the portion is reasonable. Top recommendations will be Thai Chicken and Cheese Chicken Cutlet!

5. 靴子義大利麵

One of the Italy eatery over there. The ambiance wise was pretty good, a nice place to chill and chat with friends. The bread to dip with the soup was a mini size bread roll which was quite surprising for me, and the important part is it tasted good. Spaghetti wise, I would say nothing surprisingly, just an average spaghetti.

6. 安東尼義式廚房

We waited super long before our turn, if not I wont be able to take so much photos. The price was average, you can have a full set at NT$200 more or less. Free flow of drinks and dessert. Friendly pricing wise to students. Taste wise, just some normal spaghetti, don't expect much from it.

7. 阿關丼飯

 

It is like Japanese with Chinese fusion kind of food. The taste wise is not that bad but the portion is abit little. Under NT$100 you can get a decent meal.

8. 藍灣概念餐飲

Maybe we were the last customer so the food was done pretty fast. The soup tasted awesome and the spaghetti I would say is the better one out of the few spaghetti shop around Fu Jen Uni. But like what I always say, taste and preference differs among people hah!

9. 新濟州韓式豆腐鍋

If you love spicy food, then this is what you must try! The soup is super spicy but they are really generous with their ingredients! My Korean friend said that their soup is really daebak and very similar to what she had back in Korea.

10. 登登廚房 Today Brunch

They sell something like brunch which is just right for late morning people like me. I love the tenderness of their chicken burger and also the seasonings of their fries.

11. 源士林粥品

Porridge is good once a in while and for cold weathers. But I really dont like porridge, so I really have no idea how to appreciate them. Based on my friends they seem to be alright with this stall porridge, since they finished the whole bowl.

12. 惹堡美式漢堡 The Burger

I LOVE THEIR BURGERS. I cant explain how much I love their burgers and how to explain my love for it. It is like after every time I had it I will feel super guilty having such a good meal. They have 2 outlets near the university, and it is super crowd during peak periods. Comes with a free flow of soft drinks unless you decided to order something warm which is not free flow.

13. 新莊後港一路炒飯

Operating Hours: 17:00-24:00

You have to take a 20-30mins walk or a short bus trip to 後港一路, and you will see a super crowded stall selling fried rice opposite a Family Mart. It is awarded 8th place island-wide for its fried rice. I found the fried rice tasted better if it comes with the fried oyster's brown gravy. (You can request the auntie to add some gravy to the fried rice) Instead of fried oyster we ordered fried prawns and it was really yummy! If you have some time why not travel down to have a taste of local favourite delicacy?

14. 石二鍋

 

$198 for any bowl of hotpot! And their 沙茶酱 and drinks are a MUST-TRY! 沙茶酱 is something like a sauce Taiwanese loves to dip with their food. It is not satay-sauce or any weird sauce. They provides a wide range of vegetables and some other steamboat ingredients. But the best out of everything is their meat! It is fresh and delicious to cook in shabu-shabu way! Highly Recommended to try despite the long queue!
