[CN; 2024] Day 4 | Xiamen - 8th Seafood Market || Wheelchair series 🧑‍🦽‍➡️

Day 4 - continuing after Kinmen!

Note: I used the local map called 高德地图 Amap; some locations may not be available on google map.

1. Hotel @ Xiamen

We managed to hop onto a big taxi at the ferry terminal which brought us to our hotel - yay to Wechat pay that worked out well to pay for the fare.

I thought I did all my homework... yet I chose a hotel that was not wheelchair friendly. There was a flight of steps infront of the hotel and also to the lift...

Thankfully the rooms were still decent.

We booked 2 different room types and both layouts were a little strange. Nevertheless, the location was great, free washer and dryer - no complains for the price. The front desk staff - some were friendly that will help to carry the wheelchair up the stairs, while some just play their games behind the counter...

If you're traveling with a small budget, and without a wheelchair user, I would recommend. Otherwise, please choose somewhere else!

2. 海滨公园 Hai Bin Gong Yuan

We wanted to catch sunset at the park nearby...

And we realised there was no way we could cross the road - the only way was to go through the underpass which were all stairs... So we watched the sunset from far :>

3. 厦门第八海鲜市场 Bashi / 8th Seafood Market

厦门第八海鲜市场 Bashi / 8th Seafood Market
I was quite surprised there was quite a number of Singaporeans here, I guess we left the "city" area too long. It was a very vibrant at night, and we havent seen a big crowd like this for days.

The market is totally wheelchair friendly, flat grounds. There were so many stalls selling seafood that we couldn't choose which will be the best. We randomly walked in to a stall..
The meal costed like SGD80, I'm not entirely sure was it worth the price, the food was average. But nobody mentioned to head back to the seafood market again for dinner... XD Just an one-time experience.

We also went to the 7-11 near the market and the selection of teas:

Night view of the area - loved the historical buildings:

This marks our first night at Xiamen!
