[AU; 2022] Adelaide City - 1 Day Itinerary

If I am given the chance to relocate to retire, I probably want to retire in Adelaide. It's a small city, but a slow paced city that makes me feel homey. In this post, I will share with you an one day itinerary - how can you spend a day at Adelaide enjoying the slow pace of life.

Morning: Adelaide Central Market

Have a hot breakfast at the market ~

Adelaide Central Markethttps://adelaidecentralmarket.com.au/
44-60 Gouger St, Adelaide SA 5000, Australia
This central market is opened back in 1869, there are more than 80 stalls selling all kinds of stuffs from fruits to meats and also food!

The market is extremely clean and tidy! Loved walking around there that I ended up circling more than 3 times!

You may pop in to any of the food stalls and enjoy some breakfast! (And do some work at the same time)

Noon: St. Francis Xavier's Catholic Cathedral

Enjoy the autumn colours in bustling city~

St. Francis Xavier's Catholic Cathedral
39 Wakefield St, Adelaide SA 5000, Australia

Even if you are not a catholic (like me), but nobody is stopping you to visit a religious place! The whole area was so peaceful that you couldn't help to scroll in to take a look.

The autumn colours made this a good spot to take photos!

Afternoon: MOD.

Immerse yourself in the world of science~
North Terrace, adjacent, Morphett St, Adelaide SA 5000, Australia
Before exploring the museum... grab yourself some lunch at the lobby area!
North Terrace, adjacent Morphett Street Bridge, Adelaide SA 5000, Australia

The museum is free entry! There are some snippets of the whole space:

There are 2 level of spaces to explore, it may take around less than an hour to finish the whole area. Not much crowd hence you can take your time to explore within the exhibition and reflect on what you seen.

Once you are done exploring the level 2 exhibitions, pop by the outdoor garden for a surprise sunset along the railway. This reminds me of the sunset at Brisbane's Roma Street Train Station. Another good lookout for train lovers - you may even capture good shots of planes as airport is nearby!

Evening: Elder Park

A scroll along the city river~
How can you come Adelaide without visiting the river? Head towards the Elder Park direction and you will be passing by a few interesting places such as Adelaide Festival Centre.

You may choose to walk around the Elder Park or follow the walking path along the river banks to across the street where you will be able to visit some of the memorials area.

Hope this slow paced itinerary will be useful for you to plan your visit to Adelaide City!
