[HK; 2022] A Day Trip - Kowloon Peninsula

As the hotel is located at Hong Kong island - here a day trip crossing over to Kowloon peninsula!

1. Take a ferry to Tsim Sha Tsui

Went to Wan Chai Ferry Pier; approximately 15-20 minutes walk from the hotel (Mira Moon). It was weekends but the crowd wasn't that much.

Very old school vibes once out from the ferry

2. Walk around Victoria Harbour

There was so much to see around the Victoria Harbour - if you are lost of ideas, the tourism center nearby can give you plenty of suggestions. There was a special exhibition back then, and they were so adorable!

Of course you cannot miss out the Avenue of Stars!

K11 was one of the popular shopping malls around the area and it was so classy!

Spotted another exhibition!

3. A bite at a local Cha Chaan Teng

They had quite an extensive menu in English!

Just average food - my memory preferred Lan Fong Yuen's more but they were closed that day :(

4. Explore 1881 Heritage

It was a repurposed 19th-century police building, and now mainly occupied by high-end designer shops. Very impressive!

5. Metro down to Wong Tai Sin Temple

Probably the most famous taoist temple in Hong Kong!

Every corner of the temple was photogenic!

There was a garden within the temple - which gave very chinese garden vibes. Just beware a lot of mosquitos over there.

If you would like to do some shopping - there was a mall right beside the temple and they had 2 building. Very neighbourhood friendly type of malls.

6. Fish-watching at Goldfish Market

Take photos at your own risk - some owners doesn't look friendly and may glare at you. I find the shrimps more lovely.

I personally find the market quite disappointing - I was expecting like something I recalled seeing in Running Man. Lots of stalls and many different fishes to watch. But it seems like a lot of the stalls had closed and turned into a pet store (more towards dogs and cats), I guess this is also a sign that the society is changing their preferences.

7. Grab some local ingredients

This was a special request to get some local chinese ingredients back to Singapore. And seems to be a popular place for locals too.

The bag looks small, but it was definitely heavy!

Ended the day trip by taking a bus back across the harbour, back to Hong Kong island!
