[AU; 2024] Melbourne | 12 Food Places to Recommend

Compiling the list of food & drinks that were not captured in the previous few Melbourne posts! I've tried them all so you can pin them on your google map!

1. Cafe Godot

Cafe Godot
This cafe is located at the southbank side of Melbourne city - within an art campus.

It is famous for it's bagels, yummy with good atmosphere - I would give it a 8/10 rating!

Note: Best for breakfast / brunch

2. The Boatbuilders Yard

The Boatbuilders Yard
Was surprised by the portion even though it was located at a very expensive area, along the river! I would recommend if you are looking for a nice place to meet someone or two. If you are not afraid of birds, you can get a nice outdoor view to go along your meal.

Note: Best for Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner

3. Pot au Feu

Pot au Feu

A small vietnamese stall located at South Bank, I would highly recommend the roasted pork belly - it is one of the best I ever had! Pho was still okay... which was surprising that the main dish wasn't that impressive.

Note: Best for lunch & dinner

4. Sama Sama Hometown Delights

Another small stall located at South Bank - Malaysian cuisine! Being very asian, I find the food average, but good enough if you're missing some asian flavour!

Note: Best for lunch & dinner

5. Taste of China Melbourne

Taste of China Melbourne

Warm soup is the best during the cold weather - and I would recommend this mini stall right opposite Flinders Station! The stall was super busy with food app orders, so you need to be a little patient, and there were limited seats too!

Note: Best for dinner / supper!

6. Kata Kita

Kata Kita

I was very proud of this find - Indonesia living in Australia told me that this is one of the best Indonesian restaurants. The staff were amazing - we came in as a group and they tried their best to find a table to fit all. Food was great, spiciness was food, nothing to pick on!

Note: Best for lunch & dinner!

7. Ca De Vin

Ca De Vin

A Mediterranean restaurant located inbetween the small lane of 2 buildings. They served really good pizzas and pasta - that I couldn't decide which was better! Lovely atmosphere for some dinner with a group of friends!

Note: Best for dinner

8. Khaosan Lane

Khaosan Lane
Mookata in Melbourne ka!
I found this Thai restaurant while looking for the washroom at earlier Ca De Vin. The best to reserve a table as it can be rather crowded during dinner time. I wouldn't say the food was amazing like what you can have in Thailand, but comforting enough to have some bbq food in the middle of the cold weather.

Note: Best for dinner!

9. A25 Pizzeria Centro

A25 Pizzeria Centro
Local Melbourne's favourite Pizza place!

But they couldn't bake pizza on the day we went... so had pasta instead. Pasta was yummy too but would like to try their pizza one day!

Note: Best for brunch / dinner!

10. Surasang Melbourne

Surasang Melbourne
I forgot I was in Melbourne while dinning in this Korean restaurant - the taste was so good, everyone was speaking korean, that teleported me to Korea! I would recommend to go in a group, so that you can order many dishes and share with all!

Note: Best for dinner! Lunch is okay - just watch out for food coma.

11. Sezar Restaurant

An Armenian cuisine experience in the CBD!

Had a set course meal in over here - I have to say... nothing was a miss! Armenian was new to me so this was quite refreshing! Of course coming with a group helps to share food around the table - no food wastage!

Note: Best for dinner

12. Byrdi

Byrdi

A bar located within Melbourne Central - the inhouse fermented drinks tasted unique in a good way. Loved the vibe where it was noisy, but classy and minimalist. Great place to spend some time alone or small chat with a couple friends. Highly recommend if you are looking for something new to drink!

Note: Best for Supper!
