[AU; 2025] Day 3 - Perth | Rottnest Island \ CBD Northbridge \ Festive Night Walk
Day 3
Ride to Rottnest Island
There are many public transport options to Fremantle, but we chose to take uber to the ferry terminal catch the ride to the island. Uber prices were quite "volatile", so if you get a very high fare, just wait for 2-3 minutes and it will usually drop significantly.

It wasn't that crowded for a weekend ride! The ferry ride has quite a good view:

Pretty shades of the nature blue :>
Stop #1: Bathurst Lighthouse
It was a walkable distance from the ferry terminal - just be prepared of all the sandflies:

The view of the beach from the lighthouse! No filter!

Stop #2: Lunch

Frankie's on Rotto

Found a nice restaurant next to the ferry terminal - yes we walked back. Would recommend, the pastas were very yummy.

Stop #3: Bus Tickets

Quokka Coaches

I'm usually very easy going with buses - even they come late and etc. But this bus operator challenged my patience. We had to wait close to 30-40 minutes to hop on the bus - the schedule inaccurate, they should have implemented a live tracking or deploy more buses since it was the weekend. It wasn't cheap for the hop on - off tickets, so I was expecting something more.
If you're not great with cycling - take the bus.
Stop #4: Little Salmon Bay

Little Salmon Bay
The waters were quite clear that you can see tiny fishes swimming around - many people do snorkeling over here.

I couldn't go in the waters this time due to medical reasons, but I enjoyed the time soaking my feets!

While keeping track of the next bus in this open road:

Stop #5: Cape Vlamingh
As it was rather late, we had to skip some stops and head straight to the end of the island:

Cape Vlamingh Viewing Platform

It was quite a nice board walk to chill, take some nice photos and just enjoy the nature view. There was another route to view the seals too:

Cathedral Rocks Viewing Platform

The rock wasn't super close, so we could see a couple of black shadow popping up and down on the rocks which looks like seals! You probably need to bring along a binoculars.
Stop #6: Quokka Hideout
We headed back to the ferry terminal and while waiting for the ferry, I went on a quick Quokka search:

Back to mainland - Fremantle

E Shed Markets
Authentic Bites Dumpling House

The locals recommend this place having the best Dumplings in Perth. The taste was quite spot on, wouldn't mind going for it again if there isn't a queue.

We hit some minimum spending and got a free spring rolls from the scratch card! They were very generous even though it was a free dish. Price wise it was close to A$90 for 4 pax, still alright.

Chicho Gelato Northbridge

This place is another local recommendation - one of the best gelato spots in Perth. I was so full from dinner so I had a baby cone - it was yummy dessert!
Night walk around the city
It was christmas season hence the city was full of deco and locals were recommending we should do a recommended christmas night routes:

I think they had a lot of cute decos! But don't set too high expectations :>

Ended the Perth trip with an amazing night view of the city!
