I cannot travel without food hence compiling all the great food I had in Christchurch City! Featuring 13 eateries that I have tried for you, so you can bookmark them for your next trip to Christchurch!

#1 C1 Espresso

A must go breakfast cafe in Christchurch!

C1 Espresso is an iconic Christchurch café located in the old High Street Post Office! What I liked was you can add all kinds of sides into your mains at a very reasonable cost.

Food was yummy and I highly recommend it!

#2  Banh Mi Kitchen

It actually reminds me of Vietnam where you have your noodles along the street!
The owner is a Vietnamese mum, so it was really home cooked food vibe. Loved the noodles and broth, very good food!

#3 Thai Street Food

Feeling a little lazy to head out, so ubereats!

It is strange to say I love the rice? It was very well cooked and with tomyum it was like perfect! Recommended, and I'm sure if I had it in store, I would like it even more!

#4 Rollickin Gelato Café

This is another must have in Christchurch - Gelato!

There were like so much flavours to choose from and you can test them out before you get your scoop!
I had this in winter and it so cold and not that sweet, perfect treat in the middle of the day!

#5 Sesame Noodle & Dumpling

Located in the food court called - Eats Oxford! There is a humble ramen stall:

It was quite pocket friendly meal and I wouldn't say it is the best ramen I had. But decent size and taste. Broth was really rich and thick, good comfort food for the cold weather.
Suitable if you're traveling alone, plenty of seats in the food court.

#6 Little High Eatery

This is a food court too - more varieties compared to Eat Oxford!

I was really spoilt for choices and decided to go for Thai cuisine!

It will not be fair to compare this with Southeast Asia's Thai eateries. I would say good food in a western context!

#7 Ramen Ria

I can say Christchurch has good asian food, another ramen place to recommend!

The curry rice was really good, like Japanese curry you can get in those famous japanese restaurants. The ramen also came in a big bowl. The vibe in the restaurant was kinda hipster, they have a bar upstairs. So it was nice that food and drinks were separated into 2 levels to cater different customer groups.

#8 Koji Kushi (Japanese Skewers) Buffet

Ordered some kind of set meal which had drinks and a few choices of side dishes.

It was quite a nice place to just sit around, have some nice food and chat with a friend. It brought me back to Japan instantly!

#9 Winnie Bagoes City

Very very popular pizza place!

I went in a group, so there were many sharing options and I loved the food a lot!

And had a very yummy mulled wine to keep myself warm in the winter!

 #10 Mumbaiwala Christchurch

Very rare of me having Indian cuisine - I don't really enjoy spices. But pros of going as a group was, you can try a bit of everything and not feeling too overwhelmed by spices.

I would give this a high rating! It wasn't very strong in the spices and I did enjoy the food!

#11 Riverside Market

This is a buzzing indoor market with many stalls selling locally sourced food, plus restaurants, cafes & bars.

I really liked the interior design - so much wood elements!

Stopped by a "bar" to try some local gin - The Spirits Workshop!

The bartender wasn't chatty at all, but he was great to redo my drinks when there was some strange stuff floating in my drink. The gin tonic was good, they were using a local Christchurch gin brand - Curiosity Gin :)

I regretted not getting a small bottle back :'(

#12 Gin Gin

Yes Gin again! Christchurch do serves really nice Gins!

Light dinner before having some drinks! They served really good nibbles and bites.

And I ordered a pink gin! If you're lost of what to have - just ask the bartender and he will be able to recommend you some drinks that suits you. Very knowledgeable bartender!

#13 Cellar Door

Located in the very historical building - The Arts Centre Te Matatiki Toi Ora!

I had a red wine flight which I didn't finish it, oops! Red wine is not my favourite, but I loved the atmosphere and vibe of the place. People who likes red wine will definitely love this place. So many different flights to choose from - you will be spoilt for choices!

Of course a sweet-bitter desert to end things off :)
