[KR; 2025] Day 6 - Busan | Gwangan \ Gwangalli Beach \ Spa Land

Day 6

Gwangan Station

We stopped by this station and found a small local market right next to the exit. There was this store selling red bean porridge and being curious, we popped by to get a bowl. This place is not on google.

We ordered a small bowl but the portion was huge:

And it came with this radish soup that we don't really understand the taste:

Fruits were selling super cheap - one whole big basket of strawberries for 10,000 won!

We continue to walk along the streets and saw the entrance to the market:
It was late morning and the stalls were all still open, but more of closing soon. At the end of the market there was a stall selling pig trotters and there was a small queue. It looks and smelt very delicious. This is the location of the market:
Gwangan Market (Gwangan Station)
광안시장(광안역)

We crossed the road and walked the direction to Gwangalli Beach, and ended up in a very interesting small district (still near Gwangan Station). And we decided to head in a local salon for a haircut:
강명화헤어
The owner was very cute lady - she panicked a little as she has very limited English vocab, and I have very limited Korean vocab. She calmly downloaded a translation app and communicated with us what hair style we wanted. We felt refreshed after getting a hair cut from her - recommend if you're planning for a simple style!

We continued our way to the beach and saw this beef noodles restaurant featured on sixth sense:

There were also a few cute shops along the way - this was more like a pet gift shop:

And this was selling genz accessories:

Gwangalli Beach

Before hitting the beach - we went to a gift shop and got some Busan stuffs:

And went for lunch!
Nasari Sigdang
나사리식당 광안점
This was one of the more popular seafood restaurants around the area that has the beach view:

We ordered a set meal for 2 pax and it was quite a big portion!

Seafood pancake with the beach backdrop - it was perfect.

The seafood was very generous and huge. Overall quite decent meal for the price paid and the view.

After a very fulfilling meal, time for the beach!
Verdict: Okinawa's beaches are cleaner :>

옥련선원

We had a temple pinned on the map and it was quite a short walk from the beach:
옥련선원
It was quite a hike up the slope:

The mid-point:

My sister was adventurous and she wanted to continue hiking to the peak (it was drizzling):

We came with zero expectations what was at the peak and was pleasantly surprised by the peacefulness of a giant buddha:

It has such a good view of the city too:

We sat there for an hour or so (at a sheltered area to avoid the rain) and before we left we purchased a candle to lit:
I wrote in chinese and used google translate to wrote the same wishes in korean. We couldn't find any lighters to lid the candle, and trying to be resourceful, I tried "borrowing" the candle flame from someone else's candle, but ended up extinguished it. So it became a bigger problem...

Thankfully there was an ahjussi, and I asked him for a lighter, and he showed me where the temple's lighters were hidden and helped us to lid it up. Of course, I re-lid up the other candle too - I'm so sorry.

Spa Land

This was on our check-list to do and my sister claimed that she did her research that it wasn't too embarrassing - like you need to remove every single cloth on you and etc.
SPA LAND Centum City
스파랜드 신세계백화점 센텀시티점

We booked the tickets on the spot using trip.com - and the ticket was approved in 5 minutes and we could go ahead and scan them at the level 1 reception:

On the tickets - it indicates your locker number for shoes and clothes, just follow the instructions and the signage.

Real review from a super shy asian girl:
It was a very embarrassing and shocking experience in the female changing room. Honestly, my eyes had no where to look when everyone was in nude colours - I just want to erase off this memory in my head. I don't have the confident to just strip off like everyone else, so I went to the washroom to change into the sauna clothes and my sister said we got judged by a group of Taiwanese girls waiting in the washroom line (at that point I don't really care). By right, you were supposed to strip, wash & clean yourself and dip into the female spa pool. But I don't have that courage, so off we go into the main area in our sauna clothes.

The main area had a lot of facilities, we managed to dip our feet into this hot pool:

We also tried a few of the hot steam rooms - some were really good:

There were also many spaces like this for you to chill and nap:

There was also food available (you will need to pay):

We went to the snack bar instead and got ourselves the sauna egg and sikhye! It was a little pricey but just for the experience:

Dinner

We came out from Spa Land pretty late. Thankfully our hotel is just a few minutes by foot. So we stopped by a megamart to grab some food:

Homeplus Centum City
홈플러스 센텀시티점

This was what we got for dinner:
