[KR; 2025] Day 5 - Okinawa > Busan | Jeonpo neighborhood \ Centum City

Day 5

Departuring Okinawa

It's time to fly over to South Korea! So basically my sister wanted to go Busan for the longest time, but we didn't want to pay that much for the direct flight tickets - hence the furthest Qantas points could bring me was to Okinawa on Jetstar (no longer available), then we would pay for the flight Okinawa to Busan. We didn't do our homework that we were traveling on the golden week, hence a typical Okinawa to Busan flight would cost around SGD$150; but we paid double the price SGD$300 (and we bought it as soon as the flight tickets were available).

Oh well, anyway - time to say goodbye to Okinawa:

We hopped on the monorail with our almost heavy luggage - we did strategize and intentionally brought 3-4 sets of clothes for this 10 days trip. After checking in our luggage, we roamed around the airport to complete the stamp rally and another round of shopping:

Got a very good quality portable charger from the BIC at the airport:

And spun the gashapon at the airport - ugly but cute fish that I wanted:

The departure area was quite small, and not all the food stall were open. We found a ramen stall near our gate which was perfect - tasted alright too:

Arriving Busan

We took the metro from the airport - we could have took the bus too:

But it was still quite convenient, our hotel was on the metro line 2 which was one of the main line for Busan. We just had to change once - from airport line to metro line 2: Centum City!

I don't think tourists usually stay in Centum City / Bexco as it is more of a business district. But I found this relatively new hotel on google map which looks good not to stay, and the price was reasonable too.

Travelodge Suites Busan Centum
트레블로지 스위트 부산 센텀 호텔
It was in a tall building and Travelodge was sharing the building with a few other operators. Room tour:

It was more like an apartment vs a hotel, but the space was big and good for two!

This was the view that made me book - in the morning we could even see the sunrise; and at night we could see pretty night lights:

Early Dinner

After a long day of traveling and lugging luggage; we headed for our dinner at this kbbq place:
올드맨션(Old Mansion)
It was highly recommended by many people - we wanted to reserve table online but it was too difficult to comprehend. Thankfully we were there early so we manage to get a table via walk-in.

They were awarded in the Blue Ribbon Survey, which is a respected South Korean restaurant guide. The exterior was like a traditional house, but interior had a modern atmosphere.

They had menu on tablet which makes it easier for foreigners - you can pay by card or cash. We ordered quite a bit as we were hungry - dry aged meat is always the best! They have set meals too!

The staff will help to grill the first round of meat:

We also ordered a side dish, I think it is some local noodles:

They have all the fabric spray, sweets and even mint mouthwash on the way to the exit:

If you are a huge fan of kbbq, definitely cannot miss out this in Busan!

It was raining quite a bit, and we decided to just roam around Jeonpo neighborhood (which is where Old Mansion is located). It was quite hipster and trendy with plenty cafes and cute shops.

Mandatory photo booth experience when you're in Korea~

Shinsaegae

We headed back to the metro station where our hotel was located, and realised that station's mall was Shinsaegae. Since the night was still young, we decided to walk around the world largest mall:

Shinsaegae Department Store Centum City
신세계 센텀시티
We sort of got lost after turning round and round...

It has everything you need - we spotted this emis brand that was very popular among tourists:

I think you can spend one full day over there. Stay tune for the next day post!
