Taiwan Trip | Part 5 - Taichung > Taipei

Day 5

Getting Brunch!

麵屋虎徹

We didn't want to go too far for brunch, hence decided to try out this restaurant next to the hotel.

Surprisingly, the food was really delicious, and they have free flow bar for every meal you purchase. It was quite a steal, and probably targeted for the students studying nearby.

While waiting for the car pick to Taipei, we shopped around the supermarket just right opposite the hotel, and glad that we did - because that ended up as the only supermarket shopping time we had for the entire trip.

Ride from Taichung to Taipei

I booked a ride from Tripool which costed SGD $144.22 (roughly ~NT$3,500). Not my first time booking with them, but still disappointed by the service.

The first time I booked a 4 seater car for 2 pax, and I got nagged by the driver having 2 large luggage and 1 cabin luggage (and everything fit in the car boot). This time since we had 4 pax, with 2 large luggage and 1 foldable wheelchair, I booked a 9 seater van, we had plenty of space, great no nagging. Instead, the ride was so bad that we had motion sickness.

I really hope someone could develop a better cross-city service app so that I don't have to use Tripool anymore. If you know of a better platform, please let me know.

Checking in Airbnb in Ximending

Honestly, I dislike x100 staying in Ximending. But since I'm traveling with family, for the convenience, decided to go for it.

Booked an Airbnb so we have some living space and washing machine. We didn't take much photos of the space, but it looked very similar to what they listed: https://www.airbnb.com.sg/rooms/1051856919141115344?source_impression_id=p3_1783231371_P3KtdnLDjYqePuPO

It was located at a very old mixed-use complex in Ximending, don't expect fancy features or high security. The unit itself was alright, beds were comfy. It just some sewage smell from the washroom which the owners couldn't get rid of them too. Some ants crawling around if we don't throw the rubbish overnight. But overall, still ok if you're not picky. The whole unit wasn't fully wheelchair accessible, but it was still doable.

As we were all not feeling well after the car ride, we took some time to rest and decided to just pack dinner back.
Fushan Chicken Noodle Soup Wanhua Kunming Shop 富善雞湯麵舖

A stall that I pinned on google map after watching an IG reel. They were famous for their chicken soup, and if you dine in, they have free flow of drinks and desserts!

三媽臭臭鍋

A random stall next to the chicken soup that sells Taiwanese hotpot. So we decided to grab one pot while waiting for the chicken soup.

Dinner to end off the day:

The soup were very comforting and will probably taste nicer if you dine in!
